International projects

Russia/Iran: dialogue of cultures

Russia/Iran: dialogue of cultures

The purpose of this project is to strengthen the image of Volgograd as a center of international education in the eyes of the younger generation of Mazandaran province (Iran), and to popularize Russian culture in Iran.

Cross-history competitions were held among students studying at VolgSMU and Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, a photo exhibition about Volgograd (authored by VolgSMU photographer V.N. Morozkin) was held at Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences; the day of Science and Culture of Iran was held at VolgSMU on October 31, 2024; a film about the project was shot in Russian and translated into Farsi, sent to the Embassy of Russia in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow.

Simulation of the WHO model for medical universities and faculties

VolgSMU students simulate the work of their country's delegations, the roles of the heads of WHO (World Health Organization) and WHA (World Health Assembly), and the functions of the secretariat. The simulation involves VolgSMU teachers and alumni working in WHO offices, major medical centers around the world, partner universities, and compatriots living abroad. VolgSMU is the only medical university in the Russian Federation that trains professional competencies of medical students to work in international organizations.

My unknown homeland

A socio-cultural project aimed at promoting Russia, its national values, and introducing foreign first-year students to Russian culture and history through the eyes of Russian medical students and their families through the implementation of part of the project's activities in Jordan. The implementation period is 2023-2024. Thanks to the project, students of VolgSMU and Jordan University held joint meetings in both remote and face-to-face formats. Graduates and future students of VolgSMU studied Russian, and first-year Jordanian students got acquainted with Volgograd and the history of Russia through VolgSMU students-guides.
